BigHPC2023: Special Track on Big Data and High-Performance Computing

The first Special Track about Big data and High-Performance Computing (BigHPC2023) is held alongside the Italian Conference on Big Data and Data Science (ITADATA2023) to spot the enabling technologies for data science like, but not limited to parallel, distributed, and network-based computing. The CINI National Laboratory on High-Performance Computing, Key Technologies, and Tools organizes BigHPC2023.

BigHPC2023 it is part of the dissemination effort of the ADMIRE H2020 EuroHPC project.

Call

BigHPC2023 calls for extended abstracts about novel research results or summarising published works. Contributions are welcomed from academia and industry, presenting research results on all theoretical and practical aspects standing at the intersection of High-Performance Computing and Big Data. The event focuses on contributions to High-Performance Computing architectures, algorithms, models, and management approaches for large data collections, including data processing, analysis, reporting, data protection, experimental studies, and lessons learned.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • High-performance computing Architectures and systems for Big Data
  • Parallel and distributed algorithms for Big Data processing
  • HPC-enabled data analytics
  • High-performance data storage and retrieval systems
  • Performance modeling and evaluation of HPC systems for Big Data
  • HPC in machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • HPC for scientific computing and simulations
  • HPC in the Cloud for Big Data Processing
  • Energy-efficient HPC for Big Data

The extended abstract must be submitted to the HPC track via the submission site here.
It must be formatted following the CEUR-ART style files (1 column, max 2 pages, including the references) available here. The contributions will be evaluated and selected based on their quality, originality, relevance, and timelines. Selected original contributions will be invited to submit a full paper to the Special Issue “New Trends in Parallel, Distributed, and Network-based Processing: Key Technologies, Tools, and Applications” in the International Journal of Supercomputing.
