Short Bio:
Jeroen van den Hoven is university professor and full professor of Ethics and Technology at Delft University of Technology and editor in chief of Ethics and Information Technology. He is currently the scientific director of the Delft Design for Values Institute. He was the founding scientific director of 4TU.Centre for Ethics and Technology (2007-2013). In 2009, he won the World Technology Award for Ethics as well as the IFIP prize for ICT and Society for his work in Ethics and ICT. Jeroen van den Hoven was founder, and until 2016 Programme Chair, of the program of the Dutch Research Council on Responsible Innovation. He published Designing in Ethics (Van den Hoven, Miller & Pogge eds., Cambridge University Press, 2017) and Evil Online (Cocking & Van den Hoven, Blackwell, 2018) He is a permanent member of the European Group on Ethics (EGE) to the European Commission. In 2017 he was knighted in the Order of the Lion of The Netherlands.

Attorney at law (Pisa since 1995); (New York Bar since 1997). Mediator mediation trainer. He has taught in and visited numerous universities in the world.
Scientific director of many research projects funded by MIUR, CNR, ESF, EU, the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Public Administrations, public and private companies and organizations. Main current projects: LEADs -Legality Attentive Data Scientists (PI) H2020-MSCA-ITN-2020; SoBigData++: European Integrated Infrastructure for Social Mining and Big Data Analytics; INFRAIA-H2020-EU.1.4.1.2. (task Leader) - Predictive Jurisprudence, (PI) Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
Author of 6 monographs, editor of 15 collective works, published more than 200 articles and notes in major law reviews, and chapters to collective publications in Italian, English French and Spanish.

Short Bio:
Fosca Giannotti is Full Professor at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, Italy. Fosca Giannotti is a pioneering scientist in mobility data mining, social network analysis and privacy-preserving data mining. Fosca leads the Pisa KDD Lab - Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Laboratory, a joint research initiative of the University of Pisa and ISTI-CNR, founded in 1994 as one of the earliest research lab on data mining. Fosca's research focus is on social mining from big data: smart cities, human dynamics, social and economic networks, ethics and trust, diffusion of innovations. She is author of more than 300 papers. She has coordinated tens of European projects and industrial collaborations. Fosca is the former coordinator of SoBigData, the European research infrastructure on Big Data Analytics and Social Mining, an ecosystem of ten cutting edge European research centres providing an open platform for interdisciplinary data science and data-driven innovation. Recently she became the recipient of a prestigious ERC Advanced Grant entitled XAI – Science and technology for the explanation of AI decision making.
Riccardo Guidotti - Assistant Professor at University of Pisa

Short Bio:
Riccardo Guidotti was born in 1988 in Pitigliano (GR) Italy. In 2013 and 2010 he graduated cum laude in Computer Science (MS and BS) at University of Pisa. He received the PhD in Computer Science with a thesis on Personal Data Analytics in the same institution. He is currently an Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the Department of Computer Science University of Pisa, Italy and a member of the Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Laboratory (KDDLab), a joint research group with the Information Science and Technology Institute of the National Research Council in Pisa. He won the IBM fellowship program and has been an intern in IBM Research Dublin, Ireland in 2015. His research interests are in personal data mining, clustering, explainable models, analysis of transactional data.
Laura Li Puma - Head of Artificial Intelligence Lab at Intesa San Paolo

Short Bio:
Laura Li Puma graduated from the University of Turin with a degree in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. She also obtained a master's degree in Telecommunications during her tenure at Telecom Italia Lab, where she worked in the Mobile Value-Added Service research field from 2000 to 2006.
With extensive experience in banking innovation, she has held roles in both IT and Organizational departments, ultimately gaining responsibility for Intesa Sanpaolo’s Big Data and IoT Office. In this role, she focused on enhancing expertise in monitoring business evolution, identifying emerging threats and opportunities from technological and regulatory changes, and leading Proof of Concept (PoC) developments.
Currently, she is part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center in Turin, where she leads the Applied Research & Innovation Hubs—advanced R&D labs focused on Frontier Research that integrates expertise in AI, Neuroscience, Robotics, and Climate Change. In this role, she manages and coordinates relationships with scientific partners to tackle and develop business challenges both within and beyond the bank. By leveraging cutting-edge “applied data science” competencies, she collaborates with international researchers to address real-world use cases.
